Series 3 is as amazing as the rest. I'm so excited for what Is to come

Wow. I'm still in shock that we are on series three. I am soaring with joy, especially since Tim hinted at there being a series 4 and 5. I can imagine reading these series all my life and never getting tired of them. Which I can't imagine happening with any other series. Maybe I sound a bit bizarre, but these characters are like family. They have grown in my heart and soul over the last couple of years. Just thinking that their sagas may come to an end one day, makes me already feel a sense of loss. It would be utterly heartbreaking and I may end up sending out a missing person report.

With that being said, The Creeping Men was everything I had hoped it'd be and then some. It was bitter sweet and I feel Kiera made the right choice in Dead End. I was so curious where Tim was going to go with the story, and as always, I was really impressed with his imagination a creativity. He brought in something extremely creepy which had me screaming, "Why Tim', in my head. Its the stuff of nightmares.... And day-mares. Lol. I loved, loved, loved this Kiera addition and I'm dying for the next adventure. You are a genius, Tim.

I absolutely love Tim and his new innovative ways of writing Kiera and Potter. I like the new characters as well. I do hope that Potter and Kiera get back on track. I just cannot accept that they are not together. We will see what is in store for them in the next chapter.

About the Author

Basant K. Puri, MA, PhD, MB, BChir, BSc (Hons) MathSci, DipStat, PG Dip Maths, MMath, FRCPsych, FSB, is based at Hammersmith Hospital and Imperial College London, UK. He read medicine at St. John’s College, University of Cambridge. He also trained in molecular genetics at the MRC MNU, Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge. He has authored or co-authored over 40 books, including the second edition of Drugs in Psychiatry (Oxford University Press), the third edition of Textbook of Psychiatry with Dr. Ian Treasaden (Churchill Livingstone) and, with the publisher of the present volume, the third edition of Textbook of Clinical Neuropsychiatry and Neuroscience Fundamentals with Professor David Moore.

Annie Hall, BA, MB BCh, MRCPsych is a consultant psychiatrist at South Kensington and Chelsea Mental Health Centre, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, UK. She read medicine at St Catherine’s College, Oxford, and completed her clinical training at the Welsh National School of Medicine. She works in a busy NHS inner-city psychiatric service as a consultant general adult psychiatrist.

Roger Ho, MBBS, DPM, DCP, Gdip Psychotherapy, MMed (Psych), MRCPsych, FRCPC, is an assistant professor and consultant psychiatrist at the Department of Psychological Medicine, National University of Singapore. He graduated from the University of Hong Kong and received his training in psychiatry from the National University of Singapore. He is a general adult psychiatrist and in charge of the Mood Disorder Clinic, National University Hospital, Singapore. He is a member of the editorial board of Advances of Psychiatric Treatment, an academic journal published by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. His research focuses on mood disorders, psychoneuroimmunology, and liaison psychiatry. Katharine Davies Samway is Professor of Education at San Jos� State University, where she teaches courses in reading/language arts, assessment, writing, and multicultural literature for children and young adults. Her research focuses on the literacy development of English language learners (particularly their writing development and processes), and influences on teachers' beliefs and practices. She's the author of Myths and Realities, second edition (2007), Buddy Reading (1995), and the co-author of Literature Study Circles in a Multicultural Classroom (1996).

Dorothy Taylor is Associate Professor at the Educational Opportunity Center, SUNY at Buffalo, where she teaches English as a Second Language to adult immigrants and refugees. She has taught English language learners from Kindergarten to 80 years plus. She has published and presented on reading and writing processes, technology-assisted instruction, and ESOL standards.

I really like this book

I haven't even finished reading this book, but already I'm in love. I like it because it is so specific, and each bit of advice is framed by a question. For example, how to work with crying students, the intermediate students who don't participate that much, common grammar errors, etc. Thank you for writing the book!

Required reading for C++ developers

I bought this book due to a positive comment in B. Stroustrup's "The C++ Programming Language" bibliography. I was not dissapointed. This book covers everything from terminology, to useful notations, to actual application of techniques.
I teach C++ as part of my job, and have found many design books to be shallow works which cover proprietary notations, with a few cookbook recipes thrown in. These books commonly show a lack of real development experience, and are more theory than practice.
This is not the case with this book, which combines work from many different sources. It also consistently includes references to alternative opinions when covering controversial material.
Mr. Booch stresses the need for intelligent, and sometimes ad hoc decisions which are based on good design principles, and are refined as a project evolves. But he doesn't stop there. He explains useful techniques and thought processes which are the primary tools of good OO A&D.
This is one of the best design books I have seen to date.

A beacon of light in a world of darkness

After reading the other reviews I have a few comments.
1. In 1994 when this book was published Java was in development and had no ways near the popularity it has today. (According to Cay Hortsmann Java did not burst onto the scene until late 1995)
2. Bertrand Meyer's book is great and contains valuable wisdom, but all of its examples are in Eiffel. While Eiffel is a great language what are my chances finding a job writing Eiffel.
But really all of the above comments are pointless. The fact of the matter is that the concepts in an Object-Oriented book should be language independent. However, to be most effective authors reinforce abstract ideas by including concrete examples. Which means the author must pick a language or write in pseudo code. Booch's book is a valuable reference to be used in learning how to apply Object-Oriented concepts to the analysis and design portion of the software development process. It is up to you to know your own problem domain or work with experts who do. I personally write software that deals with weapon trajectories and weapon effects and just because the book does not have any examples on this domain does note mean it is not valuable. The job of this book is to teach me how to think in terms of objects and how to find and design my classes and class hierarchies. It succeeds, Thanks Grady Booch.

It's an Algebra book....at a great price.

It was required for my daughter's class, so I won't review the technical aspects of the book. However, I will say, it was over $140 cheaper than the bookstore was charging for it! Thanks Amazon - a used textbook - especially when it's not one you'll likely keep for a lifetime - is a great deal!

Intermediate Algebra

This book is ok. Algebra is not my favorite subject though. There's plenty of practice problems and reviews for the test. Overall I don't think you could find a better algebra book. This book and my teacher are keeping me passing so I am happy with what this book has to offer.

A Likeable Book from a Successful Brand

Finally, a great social media marketing book from a brand's perspective. Jim and BJ have written an excellent, must-read story of triumph of a smaller business thanks to social media. There are lessons in her from both a strategic and tactical standpoint that companies of all sizes can apply. Two likeable thumbs up!

Franchise Greats Share Their Tasti Story!

Great book! Jim Amos and BJ Emerson discuss not just the use of social technology marketing strategies but how Tasti has used social technology to build the brand and engage their local communities. They knew Tasti had a cult like following due to an awesome product and Tasti took that following to the next level by listening and learning more about the needs of their customers. They share lessons on how they evolved the brand by using social media to interact and engage with their customers. As Jim says, "technology is the driving force but it's all about how to use it and connect with the consumers."

Tasti D-Lite has a great story. The book is a must read for anyone in franchising, or business ownership with the desire to build brand loyalty through transparency, relevancy, and brand stewardship.

A social media book with sincerity and heart? Yes it's true.

I was overjoyed to open my mailbox on Saturday afternoon to find that my autographed copy (go on, be jealous) of "The Tasti D-Lite Way" had arrived! That statement alone should be enough to tell you that social geekery courses through my veins.

You see, as a social media consultant, trainer, speaker and service provider, I've read my fair share of social media books. I read to further my knowledge of the field and keep abreast of current trends, I read to understand and gain insight on the perspectives of others who are working with the same media as I, and I read to learn real life stories of how businesses are innovating in the social space to raise the bar on the business-consumer relationship. The latter is harder to come by than the first two.

Well folks, having now completed "The Tasti D-Lite Way" I can assure you that this book is not like any other social media book that I have read - not only does it encapsulate content to satisfy the three reasons for which I would read such a book - it has something extra. This "something extra" is carried as an underlying theme, woven passionately throughout each chapter of the book. The secret sauce, my friends, is simply, heart.

After reading only the first paragraph it was immediately apparent to me that quotable and note-worthy points were going to be spilling out from the pages. So, I did what any social geek would do and devised a hashtag (#tastiway) and took to Twitter. I've never hashtweeted (as I like to call it) a book before, but I figured why the heck not? My intention was certainly not to spill the beans but to highlight some really great points and help others realize how important it would be for them to receive the real meat and potatoes by reading the entire book. If you'd like to read my Twitter summary search for #tastiway on Twitter... but you will be doing yourself a serious disservice if you substitute this for getting yourself a copy and reading "The Tasti D-Lite Way" from cover to cover.
