About the Author
KRIS VALLOTTON has been happily married for thirty-five years. He and Kathy have four children and eight grandchildren. Three of their children are in full-time, vocational ministry. Kris is the co-founder and senior overseer of the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, which has grown to more than twelve hundred full time students in thirteen years. He is also the founder and president of Moral Revolution, an organization dedicated to cultural transformation. Kris is the senior associate leader of Bethel Church in Redding California and has served on Bill Johnson’s apostolic team for more than thirty years. He has written five other books including the best selling Supernatural Ways of Royalty. Kris Vallotton’s revelatory insight and humorous delivery make him a much sought-after international conference speaker.

KA-BOOM! WORTH THE EFFORT!!

This is an extravagantly good book!
It is probably the most ambitious book Kris Vallotton has written so far: "May the Lord Himself meet you in the pages of this book and commission you to change the world." (page 19) Ambitious!
It may also be the least accessible: "Therefore, when someone with a denominational lens approaches Scripture, it requires that biblical terms and concepts support the goal of eliminating disagreement, and ultimately, discouraging individualism." (page 25) Uh....huh?
But if you hang in long enough to catch on, get the drift and jump in? Oh my goodness! It will detonate an explosion in your paradigm -- KA-BOOM!! -- and you will be so glad it did.
The first couple chapters are quite theoretical, showing us how God is calling for the deepest underlying structure of the church itself to be changed -- away from the shape it took after the Protestant Reformation or maybe, even since the days of Pope Gregory I and the collapsing Roman Empire. It is such a huge vision, it takes your breath away. It is such a new idea, it opens up your brain and shakes it around. And it carries such a ring of truth, it makes you want to rush out and live it. Right now. In Chapter 3, Kris gives many practical illustrations of exactly what he means, from Scripture and his own life, so even if you have been struggling, you'll be able to enter into the joy of this revolution from then on.
Chapters 4 through 7 are more in the form we have come to adore from Kris' previous books: specific, personal and incredibly encouraging. Page after page, he guides you into an awareness that it is actually possible to believe God Himself has called you change the world, and He WILL equip you to make it happen if you step out in obedience. Kris is splendidly anointed for this kind of writing and I hope he never stops (Please, Lord, keep the revelation pouring down on him!).
But then -- the last two chapters? He does it again! ANOTHER revolution! Only this time, he takes on the eschatological expectations held by most Protestant Christians -- challenges them, reveals holes in the arguments big enough to drive trucks through, and proposes a different way to look at the End Times. With gentleness, respect and love.
Don't even think about missing this book. It is a banquet of heavenly surprises and delights!!

Buy this book. Cut it carefully with a knife and fork, eat it, and allow the biblical truths within it to become a part of who you are.
Oh, and buy a case of highlighter pens to go with it. You'll need them.
The team at Bethel Church keeps writing books for me to recommend. When Heaven Invades Earth by Bill Johnson is perhaps the most important book written for today's generation. Vallotton's book Supernatural Ways of Royalty has helped to transform me. I still haven't read Danny Silk's Culture of Honor (grow my book budget, Lord!) but I have recommended it at least a hundred times. First time I've ever done that with a book I haven't read. Heavy Rain puts those three (and more) into context (without ever being repetitive) and expands upon them, teaching you how to transform the world around you.
Much of the book examines the concept of how our theology creates a worldview (and church-view, God-view, and self-view) which doesn't stay in our heads - it affects our actions; every part of our lives. Denominationalism, a lack of honor, faulty eschatology, and a determined, orchestrated retreat from the clear commands of God (among other things) have left the church powerless... but we are called to be triumphant! Jesus didn't win victory so we could hang out on-planet with our heads hung as darkness grows all around us...
This book is also about leaving a legacy for our children... and their children... and their children's children. They're depending on us to leave them a world in revival!
Kris tells the story of Bill Johnson went to an all-day prayer meeting, in which two (unrelated) people prophesied the same word to him, and he had the same response to both:
"Bill, I believe that God is looking for one city that would be completely His. God wants to cause a breakthrough in one city that affects every realm of society. When that one city falls under the power of God, it will create a domino effect across the entire world that will result in city after city being brought into the Kingdom." Bill's reply: "I believe that city is Redding, California!"
And this... is my heart's cry.... because I don't believe this word is for one city. I believe it's for ANY city that will be completely His. (the "or High Point" and the emphatic "YES!"'s in the following are mine, the rest is excerpted from the book:
Could Redding, or HIGH POINT, be the tipping point of historic exploits? (YES!)
Is it possible that one city could break the barrier of naysayers and doubters like Roger Bannister did the four-minute mile? (everyone said it couldn't be done... he did it!) (YES!)
Will history record a massive global revival that dramatically lowers the rime rate to the point where children can play in the streets again (YES!)
reduces the divorce statistic (YES!)
causes cancer to be spoken of in the past tense like smallpox (YES!)
and so stimulates the economy through generosity that there is literally no poor among us? (YES!)
Could the transformation go so deep and be so broad that joy fills every home (YES!)
people stop abusing their children (YES!)
immoral businesses like drugs and pornography dry up (YES!)
and abortion is considered a barbaric, inhumane act like cannibalism? (YES!)
What if signs and wonders became so frequent that God's glory literally hovered over cities like a mist and "sinners" became a minority ethnic group? (YES!)

Heavy Rain by Kris Vallotton is a MUST READ!

Absolutely amazing! Another awesome Kris Vallotton book! If you are stuck in the rut of doing church, all the while knowing there must be more, but not seeing the power of God at work in your life...this book will blast you out of an old mindset and into a new season of promise, leaving behind all of the religious baggage that has kept you from operating in power, and teach you the amazing secret that has been right in front of you all along! I dare you to read it! I dare you to believe it! Be prepared to be changed forever!
